We are into October and that's the month when we celbrate the month that holds the greatest number of birthday not to mention anniversaries and other celebrations. We will celebrate it all here on the Saturday Morning Entertainment Show. It goes by quickly so we have to get it all in. It's Indigenous People's Memorial day, Oktberfest, Miami Carnival all happening in October. But we cannot escape all the other things that are happening and catch our attention so we have to engage a conversation. So Let's Talk.
October 5, 1877 marked one of the most notorious land grab by White settlers in the shaping of the United States. The Nez Perce, a tribe of Indigenous people occupied their land in Oregon. They were always known to be friendly to White people. But White people wanted their land. They attempted to seize the land by trickery and when that failed they tried violence. They tried to force the Nez Perce onto other land. A war ensued because the land was unacceptable to the Nez Perce. On October 5, 1877 Chief Joseph, surrendered after holding off U.S. Forces for several weeks. Rather than face extermination, Chief Joseph led his tribe on a 1700 mile trip escaping to Canada. Sounds familiar? Same thing happening in Palestine today. Come on in. Join the converstion. Or tell us what you want to talk about. We are always happy to hear from you.
