Depending on your culture, upbringing, or characters in your environment, the desire to help others overshadows your own needs.

Acknowledging that you are enough—or worth it —isn’t as easy as it sounds. When our want to please others becomes pervasive, we open the door to unwanted feelings like despair, victimization, and exhaustion. Sometimes the characters that need us aren’t the healthiest, themselves.
