The people of God live in an evil age.  This evil age is in active opposition to God.  This evil age now fights the people of God who stand for the Word of God.  The people of God who stand for the Truth today know that it is impossible to stand for God in the flesh.  To do so would means certain defeat.  In order to effectively stand for the Word of God the people of God must don the armour of God.
