Those of us who remember the sixties have certainly heard of the Merry Pranksters. This ragtag group of free spirits, along with their fearless leader, Ken Kesey, set off from California on a mythical bus ride ending up at the 1964 World's Fair in New York. To say the trip was "adventurous" is a massive understatement. These pranksters more than lived up to their name and may have kicked off the rowdier aspects of the psychedelic sixties.
Alison Ellwood and Academy Award winner Alex Gibney have directed a film that captured it all. Magic Trip more than lives up to its name and serves up a treasure trove of visual snippets that will make you shout: "far out!" Check out the trailer here and be certain tune in and hear Alison's version of the experience--you'll be guaranteed to get your groove on!
