Topic: Honoring Our Ancestors

Description: Learn the spiritual benefits of keeping your Ancestors near. Many cultures believe that "those who have gone before" have a continual and beneficent interest in the affairs of the living. We will look at a couple of those cultures and give examples of ways to Honor Our Ancestors. By setting up an Ancestral Altar, you are honoring the people of your bloodline -- your kinfolk and clansmen who have helped to shape the person you are. Your Altar can be set up for as long as you desire. Most of us keep our Altars for the Ancestors up for our lifetime.

Book Review:  Grampa’s Wings~~ by DonnaMarie Porpora

Experiencing illness, death, and dying with children “Grampa’s Wings” can be comfortably shared within the framework of several major religions and cosmologies. A young child is the narrator, but the voices in the story speak to many ages. How we share our story of illness, loss, death, and love makes a difference at every age.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: DonnaMarie Porpora has hand-written and illustrated several children’s stories for her family and friends.  Grampa’s Wings is her first nationally-distributed children’s book. She is the founding minister of Finest Hour Ceremonies and Services, a non-denominational organization that creates unique life and legacy celebrations. Copies of Grampa’s Wings may be ordered directly from the author at finesthourservices@gmail.com, For interviews and presentations, please email or message the author at www.facebook.com/GrampasWings
