Welcome to Days 1 and 2 of the "Learning to Forgive Others" 14-Day Radio Challenge. Today is about What Forgiveness Is and How Unforgiveness Is Holding You Back.

Forgiveness isn’t a new topic, but it is a hot topic as more people are focusing on personal development these days. However, some people have a mistaken understanding of forgiveness and don’t realize that the act of forgiving is for them, not for the one who wronged them.

If you’re resisting the idea that you need to forgive anyone or that you don’t hold any contempt in your heart and/or your business, that’s perfectly normal. However, if you’re a human and living life, chances are you have at least one person or situation in your life that could benefit from forgiveness.

When you don't forgive, you can wind up overwhelmed with anger and resentment. It might impede your ability to trust others moving forward, to take risks you would like to take, and to plan for your future. When all of your energy is focused on the past, it can be very hard to move past a particular incident and look toward the future.

Today, you will learn what forgivenss is and some journaling practices to help you to identify who the people are that have wronged you.

Journaling Questions:

  1. Is there anyone in ANY area of my life-business-ministry-family, past or present, who I feel i have "unfinished business" with?
  2. Is there any situation I replay in my mind over and over that makes me feel mad, sad, angry, or resentful?
  3. Is there anybody I interact with on a regular basis who just seems to "rub me the wrong way?"
