Our guest is going to be Jim Lansford, Ph.D.

I’m a husband, father, engineer, teacher, carpenter, mechanic, general handyman and part-time philosopher.  My day job is as a Fellow at Cambridge Silicon Radio, a wireless chip company based in Cambridge, England.  I have worked in the technology field for over 30 years and have been Chief Technology Officer of three wireless startups.  I occasionally teach a class at CU-Boulder, which I really enjoy.

I am blessed to live in the Rocky Mountains with my soulmate of 27 years, Lynn Lansford, who is an amazing humanitarian.  We have kids and grandkids scattered all across the country.

Jim Bio-

My father was a hell-fire-and-brimstone Baptist preacher in the rural south, northeast Alabama to be exact…in the Appalachian foothills.  We lived in a very poor area that was largely agricultural.  My mother was a schoolteacher, and was one of the few college educated people in the town.  I was never comfortable with the idea of scaring the hell out of people to get them to become “converted,” so I turned away from religion – I repudiated the idea of God, and thought religion was little more than brainwashing for people who were unwilling or unable to think for themselves.
