July 14, 2021 Meet Award-winning journalist and Author David S. Heeran who was born April 11, 1938. Early in life he developed interest in two distinct fields, sports statistics and Bible prophecy.

Sports reporting career: flourished during his time at university: Sports Editor (sophomore), News Editor (junior), Editor-in-Chief (senior) of the university newspaper, The Review and continued unabated for 4+ decades. During his sophomore year at U.of Delaware David invented a pioneer statistical system for rating basketball players.

He wrote 5 Basketball Abstract books (1988-94) introducing new statistical rating methods that have been used by 16 NBA teams and by professional basketball leagues on three continents. Two of which are titled “Basic Ball” and “Basketball Abstracts”.

Military Career: Started with David outperforming the requirements during his basic training and excelling throughout his time in service.

A personal prayer, identical to that of Isaiah (Is. 6:8). led to a change in emphasis from sports to Christian writing after formal retirement in 2007.

Over the past 15 years he has authored, or co-authored, 5 books with biblical themes. His latest book, “What the Bible Has to Say about the U.S.A.” reveals a striking parallelism between a deteriorating Israel, described 2,500 years ago by the prophet Hosea, and the contemporary U.S.A.. The question at issue is: "Will the U.S.A. fall prey to the same kind of collapse that ended Israel's glory years?".
