In January 1967, Betty was abducted from her home in South Ashburnham, Massachusetts by Alien Beings.
After an unknown period of time she was returned to her family, unable to recall any specific events. As time passed the nature of the abduction and to some extent the meaning was revealed to her. Betty's Close Encounter was the subject of many books beginning with the best-sellerThe Andreasson Affair by Raymond Fowler in 1979. This book and the subsequent publications include Betty's own drawings of the events surrounding the abduction. Betty's husband Bob had his own close encounters and both Betty and Bob have been shadowed by government agencies for years.
