Off the far western tip of Virginia lies our neighbor, the Commonwealth of Kentucky. More than just a neighbor, it was actually a part of the Virginia territory in the colonial era, only becoming a state of its own in 1792. Today, the Bluegrass State, as it is affectionately known, is famed for its horse racing, bourbon, bluegrass music, college basketball, and of course Kentucky Fried Chicken, but these only scratch the surface of the state’s history, culture, and fuel for its paranormal tales. From historic taverns to the thoroughbred races and everywhere in between, there are many stories that make the state slogan of “Kentucky Unbridled Spirit” very appropriate with regards to this realm and the next.
