On today's show on , we will be discussing Patricia Carroll. Carroll is a black camera woman for CNN who was covering the Republican Convention within Tampa, Florida. Carroll who is from the state of Alabama, had peanuts thrown at her and was told,"This is how we feed our animals", by two white representatives who attended the convention. The two people were removed from the convention arena by security.
34 year old Carroll told the media," You come to places like this. You can count the black people on your hand. They see us doing things they don't think I should do."She said racism is a global issue and the incident could have happened on a street corner or at the Democratic Convention."
GOP candidate Rick Romney apologized to CNN for what happened. His strageist Russ Schriefer said,"We found it absolutely deplorable. We condemn it in the highest possible way."That behavior is just reprehensible."
Carroll said," I can't change these peoples hearts and minds," she said." No it don't feel good but I know who I am, I'm a proud black woman. Alot of people are upset. This should be a wake up call to black people... People were living in euphoria for awhile.People think we have gone further than we have."
