Asa Barnes is a native of Kansas City, MO discovered his love for music at an early age. As a kid, he sang in the church choir as embracing the rich sounds of Gospel music. This early musical training prepared him for future opportunities in music and entertainment. High school and college further developed Asa’s musical skills where he studied percussion and received classical vocal training. In 2010, Asa relocated to San Diego, CA to pursue modeling and acting professionally. Though his time was short lived on the coast, Asa made key contacts leading to performances with various bands for major public and private events. During his stay in California, Asa learned valuable industry information to be used upon his return to Kansas City, MO in 2011. Today, Asa is an elementary school music teacher, private voice instructor, model, and solo vocal artist. Some of his accomplishments have taken him to New York’s Apollo Theater and allowed him to perform regularly with diverse musical ensembles across the country. His most visible accomplishment was an appearance on season 4 and 8 of the hit television show “American Idol” where he was a Hollywood finalist. His current project entitled “It’s Complicated” is currently available on all music download sites and is gaining momentum in the Kansas City metropolitain area. Asa hopes to convey that success can be achieved through hard work, service to others, and faith in God.
