Born in the legendary Acres Homes,  Houston, Texas community, with a Grammy award winning grandfather Johnny Clyde Copeland, Smackwater's musical capabilities and roots are sincere as they come. Finding inspiration from everything from his environment to global conditions, Smackwater has invested 3 decades honing his skills. Rapping and writing since the age of 11, Smackwater studied and found influence in all of the greats and personal favorites that resonated and spoke a truth he could relate to.
