Romans 6:1-19
The Grace of God is the key to a life of liberty in the spirit. And there are three truths contained in Romans 6 that amplify this point.
1. KNOW.
See Romans 6:6, "KNOWING this, that our old man is crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin." That means that we should not be slaves of sin. 2. RECKON. See Romans 6:11, "Likewise, RECKON ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ, our LORD." So the first word is KNOW and the second word is RECKON. 3. YIELD. See Romans 6:13, "Neither YIELD ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin, but yield yourselves unto God, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members [the members of your body: your eyes, your ears, your feet, your hands] as instruments of righteousness unto God." Be sure to join us as we learn that these three words, know, reckon, and yield deal with: the fact, faith, and function of our identity in Jesus Christ! There's a fact to know. There's a reckoning to put our faith in and there is a function as we yield.
