Gates comes to Boston College from the University of South Florida where she served as the Bulls' Senior Associate Athletic Director and SWA. She joined the University of South Florida staff in July of 2013 in the role of Assistant AD for Administration. Gates was promoted to Senior Associate AD/SWA in May of 2014. In that role, she had oversight responsibilities for academics and student-athlete enhancement, and served as the departmental Title IX liaison. She had sport oversight for women's basketball, men's and women's golf, football scheduling and served as secondary oversight for football. Gates joined USF after spending more than four years at Duke University as the Assistant Director for the Iron Dukes Annual Fund and as Special Assistant to the Vice President/Director of Athletics. Prior to moving to Durham, Gates worked at the NCAA headquarters as a Postgraduate Intern in the Diversity & Inclusion department. A native of Wilmington, Del., Gates is a 2003 graduate of Howard University where she lettered four seasons as a member of the women's soccer program.  After receiving a degree in biology from Howard, she earned a master's degree in kinesiology-sport psychology from Georgia Southern University in 2008.
