A Chat in the Garden with Monique A. J. Smith

Dr. Jennifer Saxon joined the Ole Miss Athletics department in 2014 and currently serves as the Senior Assoc. AD for Social Responsibility & Engagement.  Previously, she was Associate Athletics Director for Student-Athlete Enhancement.   

Saxon has a B.S. in physical education/health education services and a master's in counselor education/secondary education from South Carolina State. She completed her doctorate in higher education personnel from University of Mississippi. 

While at Ole Miss, Saxon spearheaded the establishment of the Ole Miss Training Program. She has also enhanced key relationships on campus that include the UM Career Center, Fraternal Leadership & Learning & the Center for Inclusion and Cross-Cultural Engagement. She also serves on several university committees.

Saxon is an active member of the community and serves on the United Way of Lafayette County Board of Directors and is President of the Board of Directors for CASA of Lafayette County.   

Saxon is a graduate of the Dr. Charles Whitcomb Leadership Institute. She holds memberships in the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics, Women Leaders in Colleges and Sports and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.
