Stephanie Wilkerson, a native of Charlotte, NC has been a high school athletic administrator for 15 years. She holds a B.S. in Exercise & Sport Science (concentration in Physical Education) from University of North Carolina-Greensboro and a M.A. in Executive Leadership Studies from Gardner Webb University.
Stephanie started her athletic administration career as Assistant AD at Parkland Magnet High School in Winston-Salem, NC. After a few year’s hiatus, she transitioned back to Charlotte where she accepted a role as a Health/Physical Education Teacher and Assistant AD at the historic West Charlotte High School. She continued in the Assistant AD role for four years while eventually being promoted to Dean of Students at the school. In 2017, she was named AD at Olympic High School in Charlotte. She was the first African-American and first woman to serve in this role at Olympic.
Stephanie has obtained her Certified Athletic Administrator’s certification and Certified Master Athletic Administrator’s certification. In 2021, she was named North Carolina High School Athletic Director of the Year by NC Shape. In 2022, she was named an Athletic Director of Excellence by the North Carolina Athletic Director’s Association. She has served on the North Carolina High School Athletic Association’s Endowment Committee as well as the NCADA Certification Committee. She is also the newly appointed Executive Secretary for the SoMeck 4A Athletic Conference.
