Alicia J. Whittington, PhD, MPH, is a research scientist and assistant director of engagement and health equity research for the Football Players Health Study at Harvard University. She is also the co-lead of Family Experiences Managing Football Lives (FEM-FL).
Dr. Whittington has several years of research experience and is an experienced healthcare consultant. She attended Wellesley College, where she created her own public health major, focusing on women’s health and biological sciences. After college, she conducted research at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, where she honed in on her interests in genetics and molecular epidemiology.
She earned a Master of Public Health in chronic disease epidemiology from Yale School of Public Health and a Doctor of Philosophy in health systems management from the Tulane University School of Public Health & Tropical Medicine. She is currently a student in the Master of Science Program in Media, Medicine, and Health at Harvard Medical School.
Dr. Whittington serves on several boards, including the Yale School Public Health Alumni Board and its Emerging Majority Affairs Committee (EMAC), Women Inside Professional Sports, and the Augustus A. White III Institute for Healthcare Equity. She serves on the Leadership Council of the Joint Committee on the Status of Women at Harvard University.
