Our study will discuss what it means to see God. We compare/contrast John's statement that no one has "seen" God but Jesus.
Twice (Exodus 24:10, 11) it says "they saw God." We uncover what the witnessed when they "saw" God. (See Rev. 4:6, 15:2-4)
Seeing God
Exodus 24:10 Heb raah, to look upon with the eyes. (See Gen. 18:2)
Exodus 24:11 Heb chazah, to gaze at; behold; see. It is used to relate seeing God with the eyes (in the flesh). (See Job 19:25-27; Isa. 33:17)
John 1:18 Gr horao, similar to our English word seen, means to see with the mind and with the mind. It means to comprehend fully. It means that Jesus was the only to experience God in the fullness of the Holy Spirit. (See Acts 10:36-38)
