Being a Christian can never quite be reduced to only head-knowledge or facts to be memorized.  It always carries with it some sense of the Mystery of who God is, and how the infinite, intangible God who is beyond physical form or limitations chooses to communicate with us through physical means.  That is to say, Christians don't merely memorize or think their way into knowing God, or even feel their way into a relationship with God--there are these physical, touchable momets where the divine shows up in the ordinary.  That's really what Christians are talking about when they talk about "sacraments."  The waters of baptism, the bread and cup of Jesus' meal, and the physicality of events like these are really an elemetal part of Christianity.  But what do they "do," and who is "doing" whatever that is?  How do we think and talk about these "visible words" that are "outward signs of iward graces," and what makes them essential to the Christian faith?  That's where the conversation is headed this week with pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve in this week's episode of "Crazy Faith Talk."
