What does the word “Hispanic” mean, and why do some people prefer the term “latino,” some prefer “latinx,” and some who might fit these definitions don’t identify with any of these terms? Are there things that all Spanish-speaking people have in common? How do racism, colorism, xenophobia and other systems of oppression impact the lived experience and identities of people of the Americas and beyond?
