Charlotte View interviews Dianne and Bruce Stewart and joins their efforts to spread the word about their case as they ask the American people: Are we the kind of family America wants here?
"We have not once asked what America can do for us, but what we can do for America" The Stewart's are legal immigrants to the US, completely self-sufficient financially, manage their own businesses, own property and pay all their taxes and have never received any social services or other government support whatsoever, and yet, after 10 years living in the USA, they are still being denied Permanent Residence.
On December 5, 2011 On this date, the last of the Stewart’s visas will expire and if they are still in the United States on December 6, they will be overstays and forever barred from applying for permanent residence in the USA.
There is only ONE possible solution – a Private Bill of Congress to grant Permanent Residence to Bruce, Dianne, Sarah and Michael Stewart. While this is rare and unusual, this route has been followed in extreme circumstances by US Senator Dianne Feinstein to prevent major injustices from occurring.
