As an early childhood education teacher she wrote finger plays and simple short stories for children. For the past 20 years she has taught grant writing, strategic planning and inspirational self-explorations seminars.
When she was "downsized" from a marketing position in July 2009, Kim was in the process of writing a children's book for her niece. She decided it was time, she has written (and illustrated) books for children, a teen's book of short stories and her first novel, Life at Mimosa Lake: THe Story of a Winer Visitor which was published in August 2011.
