The concept of a “Beloved Community” was introduced by the late Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It had five pillars to its philosophical construct: 1. Zero tolerance for Poverty, Hunger, and Homelessness 2. Elimination of Prejudice and Discrimination 3. International Standards for Quality of Human Life 4. Economic and Social Justice in society, and 5. Resolving Conflict Peacefully through Non-violent Means.
