We are delighted to have as our guest this week, Me. Wade Harris, Co-Owner of the Raleigh Firebirds. Wade D. Harris is owner and founder of Raleigh Personal Training and Pro Basketball Raleigh, LLC. Mr. Harris is a native of North Carolina where he received his early education. He attended college at University of Florida, Gainesville, where he pursued his studies at one of the nation’s foremost programs of exercise physiology. In addition, he played varsity basketball for Coach Norm Sloan. In 1984, Wade transferred to California State University at Hayward where he studied under Dr. Donald Chu, one of the nation’s most respected authorities in biomechanics and sports medicine. Harris earned B.S. degree in Kinesiology and Physical Education.
In 1989, Mr. Harris returned to his home state and assumed a position with the Southeast’s leading health club chain. Today Mr. Harris is focusing his energy on building Raleigh Personal Training into a national organization. He has introduced many clients to new levels of fitness over his career. Each person presents a different challenge and reward. He has extensive knowledge in training clients who have diabetes, brain injuries, multiple sclerosis and other conditions that require experience that traditional health club personnel don’t have.
During the summer of 2017, Wade Harris began conversations with Commissioner David Magley of the newly formed NAPB discussing opportunities for professional level players in the Triangle area of North Carolina, and as of December 2017, the ownership of the Raleigh Firebirds franchise is Pro Basketball Raleigh, LLC, an entity formed in the state of North Carolina by Wade Harris and Kell Peterson who are both founding members.
