David Beeson believes that it’s only appropriate to write about what one knows, and even it if weren’t, it’s much more difficult to write about anything else.

Since he’s been in business since the year dot, or 1983 at it’s technically known to the more pedantically literal, his novels – two of which are approaching completion and one of which is due to appear on Amazon within a few weeks – are based on the drama that surrounds the
experience of trying to do a reasonable job in that strange environment.

Strange but familiar to so many millions, who deserve the opportunity to read some drama about their daily lives. “Plenty of the elements are already present,” he says. “The drink and the sex are there already, along with the visceral hatred and vicious conflicts; to spice up Good Company all I had to do was allow the underlying violence to explode to the surface. A death or two – and the
suspicion that they may not be accidents – and suddenly the interplay of office politics becomes something far more intense.”

It’s that crafting of everyday events, familiar to so many, into something epic in scale that he enjoys in writing. And intends to keep on doing.
