The Faces and Stories of a City is one aspect of a collaborative effort called "Humans of St. Louis." It has been called "a gift for the city." Their stated mission is to create a respectful online community and share stories of St. Louis for St. Louis. A variety of local storytellers are responsible for bringing their social media page to life. Co-founders Caroline Fish and Lindy Drew based their local group on one started in New York City in 2010 by photographer Brandon Stanton. Brandon began the ambitious project to create a photographic census of New York City residents. He has currently over 12 million followers on his blog and has an upcoming book called "Humans of New York: Stories."
