Working for social justice takes skill, patience, and the ability to build coalitions, Steph Perkins of PROMO, will share with us her triumphs and challenges working at the grassroots level in Missouri for social change and fair treatment of LGBT citizens.  She will discuss recent efforts working with small business owners, local elected officials, communities of faith, and chambers of commerce to affect change. Recent efforts to garner endorsements for MONA, Missouri's Non-discrimination bill to protect LGBT people in employment, public accomodations, and housing involves persistent and consistent effort. We will learn what the current status is of MONA as it will be considered by Missouri legislators this year, and also the anti-gay proposed legislation known as SJR 39, an effort by conservatives to prohibit the state from penalizing private businesses from refusing to provide services for a same-sex couple getting legally married in Missouri.   Learn more at: https://promoonline.org/news.html
