Welcome to The Woman at the Well-Season II-hosted by Beverly Black Johnson. Testifying today is our long time supporter, and contributor to Gumbo for the Soul anthologies, Cheryl Lacey Donovan.

A mother and a wife by age 18; abused, separated and a single mom by 20, Cheryl Lacey Donovan knows a little about being unstoppable woman. Despite the obstacles in her way, Cheryl chose to take these life lessons and use them to pave the way to a better future. Cheryl’s journey has not been perfect, but it has been blessed. Cheryl chose to look at herself, not in light of what society said she would become, a welfare recipient with children who were drop outs, drug dealers, and in jail, but instead as God viewed her as an awesome, fearfully and wonderfully made virtuous woman. Resilience and tenacity in the face of disappointment helped Cheryl to look inside herself for the change she wanted to see.

Cheryl Lacey Donovan now lives an authentic life as a  multi-talented preacher, teacher, mentor, motivational speaker, entrepreneur and author. She is a woman of integrity with a keen level of wisdom and humor that is nothing short of refreshing.

An award winning bestselling author Cheryl has influenced the lives of thousands in the U.S. and abroad through her powerful life changing messages. Desiring to see the saints efficiently armed with the knowledge of God, Cheryl’s passion is assisting those in the kingdom, especially women, in discovering their authentic purpose and destiny.

Cheryl hosts the weekly radio broadcast Real Life Real Faith from Houston, Texas. She is also Editor in Chief of a magazine with the same name. She has written numerous articles addressing issues affecting the community and women at large.
