About Our Guest:
Senator Barbara Robinson has overcome many challenges in her life. She received her undergraduate degree 18 years after her journey began. Through perseverance and determination, Senator Robinson eventually earned several graduate degrees. She was the first woman and the first African American to hold the positions of deputy administrator of the District Court, the Supreme Bench and the Circuit Court of Baltimore. She integrated the restrooms in the court system and fought for women rights in the workplace. In 1985, Senator Robinson started her first company providing training and development programs to corporations and to employees of government agencies. Five years later, she started a non-profit organization dedicated to assisting vulnerable populations of people such as the following: people with developmental disabilities; homeless; older adults; welfare recipients; youths and women. Today Senator Barbara Robinson continues to be a trailblazer, leading the way for those who will follow in her footsteps.
