According to several news outlets, aljazeera etc. On Oct 2,2023, the UN Security Council approved a multi-national force, led by Kenya, to Haiti to so-called combat violent gangs. The New York Times states Police officers from Kenya are being dispatched to bring order to gang-ravaged Haiti, but in their own home country, they have been accused of brutality. Kenyan police officers have shot and beaten hundreds of protesters this year, human rights groups said, raising concerns about what level of force will be used to combat organized criminal groups in Haiti, and whether that will put civilians in harm’s way.
