In America we celebrate Independence Day, on the fourth of July. It is a federal holiday in the United States, meaning federal government agencies observe this holiday and are closed for the day. According to Wikipedia, during the American Revolution the legal separation of thirteen colonies from Great Britain occurred in 1776 on July 2. America declared independence from under Great Britain rule with the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. American history tells us we fought, earned, deserved and declared our freedom.
