At 3pmEST on Fridays, we present Mary Diaz on the "Human Rights Demand" radio broadcast. Mary is a prisoner activist who advocates to increase paroles and pardons. Please call (347)857-3293 to speak on air. You can also listen by computer live or hear the archived tape 24/7. Diaz is affiliated with "Human Conflicts Organization," where "LET MY PEOPLE GO" is the motto. She lives in Florida, which had over 5,200 inmates who were parole eligible in 2014 but fewer than 20 were released. Prison investors on the Pardons and Parole Board are a barrier to freedom for many rehabilitated inmates. Diaz and Human Conflicts Org. advocate the immediate release of prisoners who have served their minimum sentences and an increase in the number of prisoners who are granted compassionate releases. Prisoners who have been rehabilited and prisoners who are elderly and have served their minimum sentences as well as hospice inmates present no threat to society and deserve immediate release. Taxpayers should not be made to spend billions of dollars every year to excessively sentence prisoners when money is needed to improve the quality of life for free people.
