Mary Diaz and Human Conflicts Org. Demand More Pardons and Paroles. They also demand more compassionate releases for elderly and infirmed prisoners. Call (347)857.3293 to speak on air during this and their future broadcasts at "Human Rights Demand." Mary Diaz was very disappointed that the State of Florida released absolutely NO prisoners at all during the month of July, despite the fact that the state has over 4,000 parole-eligible inmates. This is unconscienable. Floridians need their tax money to better educate the state's public school students, provide health care and housing, create jobs, and care for its elderly citizens. Too much of the state's budget goes to prison investors who wrongly sacrifice other needs in order to generate prison profits.

Senator Bernie Sanders, a U.S. presidential candidate, introduced legislation on September 17, 2015, to help eliminate the private prison system in America: the "Justice Is Not For Sale Act." Sanders said that his campaign would also focus on ending the War on Drugs, which we know is actually a war against drug addicts and their families. Human Rights Demand asks for your full support of this important bill. Learn more at http://thinkprogress.org/justice/2015/09/17/3702659/bernie-sanders-prison-bill

Power concedes nothing without a demand; it never has, and it never will.
