Family Takes a Hit

“The holiday season is here again. The traditions of Thanksgiving and Christmas, Hanukah, New years, etc... are important parts of American rituals and bring with them the potential of reconnecting with our families as well as turbulence. 2020 has been a contentious year for the most part with bitter camp alignments toward political affiliations, perspectives on the pandemic ranging from either following popular science religiously to out and out defiance about whether there is even a pandemic at all! Somehow, like nearly everything else this year, this too became a political football to kick around. Little tolerance and understanding of other peoples points of view abound, and cutting out friends or family in life or through social media have been growing notably over the last few years. The question then becomes how will all of this impact the holiday season as we close out the last few weeks of 2020 when heightened fear, practical limitations, and stubborn “my way or the highway” anger is added to the mix?
