David’s life had been challenged of ever side his father rejected him his king pursued him to kill him he had to live in a cave he had no home only a promise he was betrayed by his son wounded by his wife misunderstood, persecuted……… David  himself a shepherd   identified with the sheep who were  in need of a Shephard he realized his complete helplessness.  His  need for endless attention, constant companionship, reassurance and protection. Someone to manage his way who had knowledge of the way  best to strengthen and  nourish him it would require  meticulous painstaking care done out of love and with a deep lasting commitmen.  He understood the difference between sheep that were content thriving and flourishing  and those that were suffering endless hardship, struggling, sick weak and  starving. David knew the level of care he needed and  boasted and rejoiced in the fact that the Lord had chosen to be his shepherd    He had been pursued purchase and  marked by the gentle kind intelligent brave selfless devoted Good Shephard. David  knew something of God’s character and ability from his lineage. But his experience with  the all power, all knowing, ever present God, merciful, longsuffering, gracious, victorious everlasting, faithful, Creator brought him to declare, with great humility and gratitude,

 THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD !!
