Join Chuck Wilder for the show From Play. An Epic (pun intended) adventure into the world of poetic forms. From the first documented form of Epic poetry to the latest invented form, with everything in between, we will leave no form unturned.
Each week we will focus on poetic forms traditional and invented. A form will be highlighted for each show, where we will read and discuss the highlighted technique. Join our weekly contest to get your form poetry read live.
Forms could very well be the Tai Chi of poetry. The discipline offers constraints that help build ones poetic muscles. As we toil under rhythm, rhyme, repetition, and syllable counts we will discover the beauty that each form has to offer. One is bound to find new forms they love and old ones they still hate. Discovering together how all these forms make the poetry world go round.
Let us gird ourselves with the valuable lessons with each week chosen theme. Letting it bond us together to acquire every advantage to win this “lover’s quarrel with the world”
"I would have written of me on my stone:I had a lover’s quarrel with the world.”
Robert Frost
