Listen to the Sat. May 23, 2020 edition of the Pan-African Journal: Worldwide Radio Broadcast hosted by Abayomi Azikiwe, editor of the Pan-African News Wire. The program features our regular PANW report with dispatches on the tour of Zimbabwe First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa to address the problems of seniors related to the containment of COVID-19 in this Southern African state; the Kingdom of Lesotho has sworn-in new Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro earlier in the week; national elections in Burundi have taken place while the country remains peaceful; and Brazil along with Mexico are becoming major areas in the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. In the second and third hours we continue our coverage of the efforts by the international community to halt the spread of COVID-19. We rebroadcast the most recent briefing by World Health Organization (WHO) Director General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus in Geneva. Finally, we focus on efforts by the Republic of South Africa in moving towards level 3 in the pandemic shutdown. Minister of Higher Education Dr. Blade Nzimande delivered a report on measures being adopted to assure continuing college and university training.
