The Bible Speaks: Day of Atonement

The Lord God sacrificed his life and his body for all men to live. As a shadow of his coming in the flesh, the Lord had the people of Isreal keep a holy convocation in which they afflict their souls (or fast) from evening to evening. This is the Day of Atonement which is a memorial of Christ's death and resurrection and His atonement of our sins. It is celebrated on the 1st day of the seventh month of the Lord's calendar, which on man's calendar this year begins the evening of Friday, September 17th and ends the evening of Saturday, September 18th. Happy feast! The Bible Speaks is a bible study class where listeners are free to ask questions and get answers according to the written word of God (Genesis to Revelation).
