The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated. Legacy is about life and living. It's about  learning from the past, living in the present, and building for the future. The idea of legacy may remind us of the death of an individual however it is not about death. But being reminded of death is actually a good thing because death informs us of life. It gives us a prespective on what's important.

Michelle Obama quoted, " We have a responsibility to live up to the legacy of those who came before us doing all that we can to help those who will come after us."

Today we are celebrating the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther Kning Jr. He dedicated his life to the non violent struggle for racial equality in the United States. The values of non violence, including unconditional love, tolerance, forgiveness and reconciliation may still be so desperately needed to reunify America. This holiday provides a unique opportunity to teach young people to fight evil, not people. We also have to do more to get in touch with our communities as we get in the habit of asking what can I do to make a difference?

Join Dr. Lisa Romain and I as we Acknowledge The Legacy Of Others. Let's continue the legacy of those before us. We will be discussing those that have made a difference in their communities, as well as around the world. Live Monday 1/15/18 12PM Pacific.
