Volume 1: Gleaning the Magic from Vintage Movie Serials

As a departure from some of the weightier topics our show often addresses, this week the host takes a stroll down memory lane when he first discovered the superheroes of the silver screen of yesteryear in the form of the movie serial. From the 1930s until the early 1950s, the weekly movie serial—many made by Republic Studios--kept audiences of all ages coming back to learn the outcome of the latest cliffhanger of their favorite hero. This show is airing at a special holiday time. “21 Century Ideas with Dr. Robert” returns to its regular Friday time slot beginning in January, 2012.
