Hello everyone, I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Host for Blog Talk Radio/ Shedding Light.

Miriam Jacobs, Psychosocial Therapist, from The Netherlands is back with us to discuss mass incarceration and the need for changes in U.S. Courts and Penal System. The Prisons need to be  Replaced with Long-Term Residential Treatment Facilities, with Professional and Experienced Psychiatrist, Psychologists, Mental Health Counselors, Substance Abuse Counselors, in addition to other appropriate services. Prisons across the Country, have not and will never be the answer. Suicide rates are high in the penal system and even many when released, following severe abuses and deprivations while incarcerated. Many wrongful convictions, resulting in years of someone's lives being wasted behind those cold walls.  Changes are long overdue and we will discuss why and how these resolutions can be fulfilled. Let's welcome our Guests.
