Hello everyone, I am Leonna Abraham Brandao, Host for Blog Talk Radio/ Shedding Light.

Criminal Justice Reform in the United States is Long Overdue and as Legislative Members, Advocates and as so many of us know, something has to be done about mass incarceration, life and LWOP sentencing in the United States. It must stop. It is costing taxpayers millions of dollars to house individuals, whom I might add, are wrongfully convicted, first-time offenders, mentally ill individuals and so many other situations, causing someone to stubble. We have an epidemic in America, not only of the Pandemic. But also of Mental Illnesses and Addictions, which could, and should much better, be managed with Long-Term Residential Treatment Facilities, whether it be Long-Term Residential Substance Abuse Treatment, Long-Term Residential Mental Health Treatment or Long-Term Anger Management Treatment. In addition, This Country sentences and houses, thousands of wrongfully convicted individuals, still awaiting releases.

We have two special Guests today, from Society-First, a Nonprofit Organization, Putting Society first in social and criminal justice reform. Let's Welcome Denise Caffo, President and Co-Founder and William Thomas, Representative of Society-First, which you can find at Society-First.com. So, please. Let's Welcome our Guests.
