Chatting with Nat - Singer Songwriter Ashleigh Rey

Ashleigh Rey is a 23 year-old singer-songwriter originally from Dallas, Texas. She is currently based out of Chicago, IL and spends her days working as a copywriter and her nights pursuing her dream of making music. She began her pursuit of music in high-school and started her college career at the Chicago College of Performing Arts, studying musical theatre and vocal performance. However, Ashleigh missed her southern roots and wanted to nourish her love for writing. In 2018, she transferred to Southern Methodist University and would eventually graduate in May of 2020 with a degree in journalism and minors in creative writing and performance art. Her love for music, performance and writing became very prevalent at the beginning of the pandemic and during the summer of 2020 Ashleigh began pursuing a career as a musician and songwriter. She recently released her first single, “Synthetic Serotonin,” on all streaming platforms and has plans to continue to write and release new music in the years to come. When Ashleigh is not writing or making music, she is most likely watching true crime documentaries, reading comic books or trying to adopt a cat.
