Do you have children? Are they healthy? It is every mom’s nightmare to discover something is seriously wrong with your child medically. Imagine putting your happy, healthy infant son to bed one night, only to wake in the morning and find something is terribly wrong, something that a trip to a clinic or even the emergency room can’t fix, and medication won’t remedy the problem either.
Abby Banks, mother of three, shares the story of her then seven-month old son, Wyatt, diagnosed with transverse myelitis. This rare autoimmune disease attacked Wyatt’s spinal cord, leaving him paralyzed, wheelchair bound, and facing years of rehabilitation.
Abby is a mom turned author and special needs advocate. She is a speech and communications summa cum laude graduate from Clemson University. Abby’s passion is to find God in the hard places. Her book, Love Him Anyway, chronicles the heartbreak and hope of a family forced into the fray of a fight they never expected to encounter.
