What does Memorial Day mean to you? Is it simply an extra day off, the beginning of summer, or time and a half on your paycheck? Memorial Day deserves and demands the respect of every American. It is the day we honor the sacrifices of Our Fallen, the day we owe our deepest gratitude to those who gave everything they could possibly give to protect our freedom.
Scoti Domeij, mother of Army Ranger Sgt. 1st Class Kristoffer Domeij, holds the significance of Memorial Day in her shattered heart every day since learning of her son’s death on October 22nd, 2011. Kristoffer holds a significant distinction in American history.
Scoti knows her way around the writing and publishing world, and is multi-published in such publications as The New York Times, Southwest Art, School Daze, SAM Journal, and parenting magazines. She is a contributor to Violence of Action: The Untold Stories of the 75th Ranger Regiment in the War on Terror (Blackside Concepts), and various devotional publications.
