You hear about it in the news, but what do you really know about the impact of bullying on our youth today? Isn’t it something we all dealt with during our school years to some degree? What about human trafficking? That only occurs with any prevalence in third world countries, right? You might be shocked to learn how common this practice is right here in America and how thoroughly it devastates the lives of its victims.
Author Darcie Gudger tackles both of these issues in her YA Guarded series, which consists of two published books to date, Spin and Toss. Darcie has a B.A. in psychology from Houghton College in New York and an M.A. in special education from the University of Colorado in Denver. Darcie has fifteen years experience as a competitive color guard director.
Please join us Tuesday morning, October 31st at 8:00 AM MDT, when Darcie will talk about the reasons she chose to address two difficult topics in her novels, the danger human trafficking poses to young people, and the struggles she has overcome to achieve her writing goals.
