Jesus teaches us to “Love our neighbor” and “love our enemies.” Sometimes, forgiveness can be a difficult task, especially when our neighbor lives within a far different culture from our own and our enemy has heaped atrocities on our nation that can never be forgotten. It is through the efforts of one person at a time, willing to be the hands and feet of Jesus, to reach out with a forgiving and compassionate heart, to recognized that Jesus loves all peoples, that peace and understanding can be achieved.

My guest today, Paula Moldenhauer, is one such person. She is actively reaching out across cultural boundaries to bring hope and healing to lonely, isolated women striving to achieve a fulfilling life of freedom in the United States. An author, speaker, and mom of four, Paula encourages others to live free to flourish.

Paula's passion for flourishing freedom takes her to unexpected places. She recently returned from Afghanistan where she served with a non-governmental agency called SOZO International. SOZO provides education and healthcare for some of the poorest of the poor in a country determined to rebuild after war and that continues to stand against insurgents.
