Megan Carnarius: A Deeper Perspective on Alzheimer's and Other Dementias

Alzheimer's specialist Megan Carnarius, RN, NHA, LMT, has 25 years experience designing and running memory care settings. Megan's recently released book A Deeper Perspective on Alzheimer's and Other Dementias: Practical Tools with Spiritual Insights reflects her warmly human touch and spiritually oriented perspective working with people with dementia and their families.

Megan's focus is on creating quality of life for everyone touched by all forms of dementia, opening up to trust, nurturing compassion and creating a vital connection to the most beautiful aspects of what it means to be a human being. Megan helps those who have been diagnosed with some form of dementia to discover ways to live authentically in a space of loving and being loved.  She views the brain as a vehicle of self-expression, in an expansive way, focusing on the healthy, well spirit residing within each and every person.

Presently the executive director of a secure memory care, assisted living residence, Megan was already managing a center in 1989 and started consulting in 1996, resulting in an award-winning memory care facility, and she continues to assist center owners as a consultant.  Megan is a sought-after lecturer, professional trainer and family consultant, also serving on the Alzheimer's education committee for 15 years.
