UFOs and Spirituality

Why is Spirituality a vital part of reflecting on UFOs and life beyond the Earth?  So very often, the exploration of this topic, and even life in the Universe/Multiverse overall, is limited to technological, mechanistic considerations.  We look for "signals" from other planets as evidence of "intelligent life", yet most of the "traditional" research community in "the sciences" fails to consider the Real possibilities.  The movie Contact is so very relevant here, and in multiple ways, as well as the movie 2001 (we will consider the movies and not the books, as most people remember the movies more vividly).  Those of us who have an expanded awareness of what is possible, very much including those of us in the scientific community, have a responsibility to expand the discussion beyond technological hardware.  And so we shall!
